“Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” movie coming soon from Tim Burton and director of “Wanted”!
The vampire slayer novel coming soon to a store near you is now coming to a movie theater too: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has been optioned by Tim Burton. (With nine projects already in development, that now makes ten upcoming vampire movies, two from Burton.)
We’ve already written about the historical mash-up by Seth Grahame-Smith, in which the Great Emancipator fights slavery and vampires several times (as here, and here), so we’ll take some credit for this project coming together. (What, you don’t think Burton reads this blog? It can happen.) Timur Bekmambetov, the Russian director of the crazy bullet, Angelina Jolie hotness-fest Wanted, is slated to direct. (So presumably the movie will have way cooler fang-fighting action than this viral promotional video made by the book’s publisher.) If the flick does well, expect to see more great historical figures turned into superheroes. Free idea: Teddy Roosevelt: Rocket-Propelled Martian Slayer.

Well looks like ol honest Abe is gonna have to make an appearance in A Real American Vampire!
