Which vampire House do new City of Eternals players choose? Here’s some early data!
ohai all — at the start of this month, we launched a House choosing system so new City of Eternals players could decide which vampire clan in our MMO they wanted to join. There’s House Gaiana (the wise preservers), House duArc (warrior scholars), House Zakone (scientist inventors), Cosca (party animals), or the rebellious White Crows. (Or as their rivals might describe them: hippie vampires, toothy warmongers, undead geeks, decrepit rockstars, or vampire slackers.)
Now thanks to Don, our chief technical ohai, we have some early sample data on the Houses you players chose. Want to know which House choice is most popular? Read on!
So, of the people who have chosen a House so far:
24% chose House Gaiana
21% chose The White Crows
20% chose House DuArc
19% chose House Cosca
16% chose House Zakone
Really interesting how the choices are all within an 8% variation, yeah? One ohai guy (and I won’t say who) was totally positive the overwhelming choice would be the rebel gansta White Crows. Others thought people would prefer the party hearty Coscas. But turns out the earth mother Gaians are even more popular.
But again, this is just early data, so we’ll report more House choosing stats later in the year. Meantime, why not invite your friends to play, so they can join your own favorite House?

That is super interesting. I thought Cosca or Zakone for sure!
Interesting indeed… I first chose Zakone, then went to Gaiana. I like the intellectual house. hehehe
Considering that House Gaiana in the most ancient house, and Vampires of that house represent, as historians, the memory of the Vampire world, and as originators and keepers of the moral code, its consciousness, I am really not that surprised it ended up first.
The only other house that I seriously considered joining was duArc (I think there are screenshots of me in duArc somewhere in the Forum), as their role of warrior-scholars attracts me as well.
But if I try to imagine the power structure of New Valencia, what I get is Gaianas as the decision-makers, the keepers of the order, the “council of elders”, and duArcs as the army/police or executive power. I’d rather be the one with all the information.
But I am being verbose again.

Gaiana was such an obvious choice for me. As a historian, I get the ‘appeal’ of White Crows in that they’re the ‘rebels’ and everyone wants to be a rebel, right? But I think they’re the least appealing in terms of storyline and actions of any of the houses. They’re basically bullies and nothing more and worse, they want to LOOK like they are being all rebellious against order, but they do have a leader…and if he gives orders, they will follow them. They’re just a house that pretends it isn’t one. Hypocrites. >.>
Thanks for posting house stats. Just looking at player’s houses in games, I was thinking it was fairly even, but looking at the forum Gaiana seems popular (or more vocal….) Gaiana does have a large story arc in game, so that might make more players choose Gaiana.
Renata – interesting, I hadn’t really thought about how the houses might play out in valencia culture.
