Vampires continue conquering Hollywood, the Examiner reports: coming soon is Dracula Year Zero, starring Sam Worthington (fresh from Avatar), and Vlad, from Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B, both of which will tell versions of the historical Dracula story from Transylvania. (Memo to Brad: Consider hiring Diana, City of Eternals’ Romanian violinist with a fondness for the Impaler, as an adviser.)

With these two projects, we now have at least nine vampire movies in various stages of production: there’s Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s Dark Shadows adaptation, the Hollywood remake of Let the Right One In, Underworld 4 (in 3D), Alicia Silverstone and Amy Heckerlings’ Vamps, Priest with Paul Bettany, and the indy movie Rosencrants and Guildenstern Are Undead. (And that’s probably an incomplete list.) So if you’re worried the third Twilight movie is the last vampire movie you’ll see in theaters, keep in mind it’s just the tip of the iceberg (or in this case, the fang.)
